About this show:
The Smart Show
The Smart Show is our new daily web series showcasing what’s so smart about America. And by “smart” we mean the clever, witty, innovative and unexpected ideas, places and faces that raise your eyebrows (and make you laugh.)  Our hosts are driving cross-country for two months, hitting big cities and small towns to discover all the interesting ingredients in America’s great melting pot of smarts. Stuff like:
  • An alarm clock that runs away from you when you hit snooze
  • A band that makes music with type-writers
  • “In-the-know” local stuff: best bargains, native cookin’, hometown events

Expect some twists and turns because our show airs at the end of each day, giving us only 24 hours (or less!) to discover the local smarts and make a show. Every day is a new adventure and there’s only way to know exactly what we’re going to do next…tune in!

Okay, a little something about me, besides the proverbial “loves long walks on the beach”. My Dad was in the military so I got to live in lots of different places, from Goose Bay, Canada to the Deep South to Guam. I guess that has something to do with why I love to travel. I’ve visited most of Europe, Southeast Asia and North America, and have recently taken surf trips around baja and new zealand. As for the online community, I’m pretty much all over the internet. At the moment I’ve got this little web short called “Welcome Back Potter”, which is blowing up on Youtube. I was also the first host of My Music Channel, a digital cable music video channel sponsored by AOL for Broadband On TV (you remember TV, right?), you might have seen me on shows like “Crossing Jordan”, “General Hospital”, “Titus”, “Felicity,” and “Monk.” I’ve also done quite a bit of hosting, like on USA Network’s “Before and After’noon Movie” and Cartoon Network’s live action show, “Fridays”. Some other places you might know me from are commercials and video game voiceovers. And if you’re under nine years old or know anyone who is, then you’ve definitely heard my voice on the Disney show, “Higglytown Heroes.” Oh, you’re in to Anime? Then you’ve heard me on “Zatch Bell” and “Naruto.” Finally, I do host all kinds of live comedy shows and theatre events. But mostly I love to travel and surf. And travel to surf.

Born and raised in North Dakota...on a farm! I went to college at the University of North Dakota. I received a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After school I spent 6 months on the road doing theatre with children. It was incredibly rewarding. Now I live in Los Angeles and I teach yoga. I feel so lucky to have a job where I don't have to wear shoes! I wish I could be a bass player in a rock and roll band, a morning show host on the radio, a race car driver, a salsa dancer, and invisible...sometimes. I love to read. I watch very little television. I laugh out loud when I watch "Curb Your Enthusiasm". I have always wanted to make people laugh. I have a cat.
